Zinta went to St Lawrence Boarding School where she took interest in Literature, basketball and stage performances. Later she completed her graduation in English from St. Bedes in Shimla and continued higher studies and bagged a post graduate degree in Criminal Psychology. Surprising she wanted to become a nun, much to her mother’s opposition. Modelling and stepping into movies were chance factors for her. In 1996, she happened to come across a director in one of her friend’s birthday party and instantly was given offer for modelling. She auditioned for it and bagged the advertisement campaign for Perk chocolates and became the face of every household. Again in 1997, while accompanying her friend for an audition, Zinta caught attention of the director and was asked to join full time acting. This dimple cheeked beauty auditioned for the role and was selected for the movie Tara Rum Pum Pum, which was eventually cancelled. Her Debut was in a cameo role in Dil Se which proved to be a commercial hit and her short on screen presence was highly appreciated. Her acting skills won further recognition in movies like Sangharsh, Soldier, Kya Kehna, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Lakshya,Salaam Namaste, Khabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna to name a few.
