Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is comes under Gujarat state, spread in about 607 km² area. Nocturnal flying squirrels also known as Pteromyin are unique type of squirrels specially found in this sanctuary. Many other wildlife species are found here including mammals such as barking deers, leopard, wild dogs, Indian porcupine, rhesus macaque and many more. Reptiles are also found here such as python, tortoise, lizards and different kinds of snakes. You get to see different species of birds namely great horned owl, grey jungle fowl, Alexandrine parakeet, grey hornbill, sparrow hawk, red jungle fowl, crested serpent eagle and shikra.
How to Reach
The easiest way to go sanctuary is by road. Many buses are available from Ankleshwar bus stand which is at a distance of 60 km from the park. You can also go by train from Baruch railway station at a distance of 80 km. Vadodara airport at a distance of 90 km is the closest airport.
