The Madras Rubber Factory abbreviated as MRF is one of India’s leading and largest rubber industry. It was established in the year 1946 by K.M. Mammen Mappillai with the manufacturing of toy balloons. Currently it’s headquarter is at its original establishment in Tiruvottiyur, Chennai in Tamil Nadu state. In 1952 it first started manufacturing tread rubber and gradually revolutionized to nylon tyres in 1973.

The company first started as a private company in 1960 and with Partner Company Mansfield Tyre and Rubber located in Ohio. It turned private the very next year and started its first export office in Beirut, Lebanon. MRF became one of the first Indian company for exporting rubber goods. MRF manufactures and distributes rubber products like tyres, sports equipment, threads, tubes, industrial conveyor belts, paints, coats and even toys. It is chiefly popular for tyre production and manufactures a variety of tyres for light weight as well as heavy vehicles like cars, trucks, buses, off-road vehicles, two-wheelers and the like.
